 Job Description


Duties and Responsibilities


•Oversight of the entire travel department in the Juba office
•Coordinating and guiding the Company staff to work for the customer satisfaction and development of the Company.
•Ensure quality and quantity  of work done by travel staff to maximize profit in line with departmental strategy
•Enhance/improve existing quality checks system to ensure timely responses , efficiency and sufficient quotations
•Ensure Quality checks are done consistently to minimize errors
•Quality checks done to include - web fares, all fares, last minute ticketing to secure low fares, value add products, hotel, travel insurance
•Identify key skills, specialty skills and propose training needs accordingly to HR
•Keep  abreast industry developments/market intelligence and  ensure is up-to-date
•Organize product presentations to enhance product knowledge
•Ensure training of all Travel consultants on client database in use and GDS client profiles
•Ensure all Company’s client details/information is on the database/GDS client profile
•Enhance customer relations between the Company and its clients through continuous follow ups: telephone and e-mail
•Co-ordinate and organize travel coordinators functions involving travel consultants to enhance relationships
•Ensure timely Service Level Agreement review meetings
•Ensure seamless communication between the Company and its clients
•Set departmental targets in line with the company strategy and advice if and when there is need for review
•Set targets for ticketing staff (targets are per travel consultant based on airline targets and corporate targets weekly and monthly)
•Negotiate corporate and group incentives on behalf of the Company and corporate clients
•Ensure timely renewal/extension of existing corporate incentive contracts
•Ensure updated visa requirements, embassy location, contacts, hours of operation and off/closed days (embassy holidays)
•Ensure visa procedures are adhered to
•Co-ordinate travel staff coaching and mentorship programme
•Come up with an airline visit schedule and ensure it happens
•Come up with agenda for meeting through staff communication to ensure productive visit
•Ensure staff issues with airlines are resolved to the satisfaction of both parties


 



The successful candidate will have:


•6 years experience in a busy  travel agency in a senior position
•Broad breadth of the travel industry and travel industry market dynamics
•Advanced IATA diploma
•Diploma in IATA Management level
•Diploma/certificate in customer care
•A degree in business related studies / certificate in sales & marketing / one foreign language will be an added advantage
•Certificate in basic computer knowledge
•Fluent spoken and written English and Kiswahili
•Ability to meet deadlines
•Good interpersonal skills
•Good management & leadership skills
•Good presentation skills
•Good negotiation skills in terms of supplier discounts
•Knowledge to deal with the high profile customer queries
•Ability to handle displeased customers/clients
