Duties and Responsibilities
•Collect proper, correct and efficient information from enquiries to be converted into sales •Update client database with accurate client data and maintain clients’ profiles •Ensure SLAs are followed to the letter •Ensure flights options, hotels, transfers and non-air services are offered to customers •Advise the clients on visa and health requirements for each destination •Sell related non-air services e.g. insurance, transfers, hotels, tours to clients •Issue tickets with applicable airlines incentives and commissions •Ensure that tickets issued have a QC card •Ensure that coupons are submitted for invoicing within the stipulated time •Ensure compliance with the client’s travel policy at the time of ticketing •Advise the client on fare conditions and ticketing time limit •Monitor the reservation queues and advise clients in good time before bookings are canceled •Email and forward e-tickets to clients on time •Adhere to the Global Distribution Systems (GDS), Airline contracts and invoicing manuals •Ensure all ticket refunds are recorded in the refund register within the stipulated time •Report any customer complaints as they arise •Provide daily and weekly reports as per the set timelines •Obtain correct documents, visa fees and advise the customer on visa checklist •Ensure that the passports are handed over to the clients on time •Responsible for booking transfers on e-mail and writing transfer vouchers on time •Provide correct clients’ house maps •Monitor assigned accounts to maximize sales
The successful candidate will have:
•3 years experience in a similar position •Advanced IATA diploma •Certificate in Galileo and/or Amadeus reservation system •One foreign language will be an added advantage •Certificate in basic computer knowledge •Good interpersonal skills and a team player •Ability to handle displeased clients •Ability to recognize sales leads and follow through •Familiarity with the offered destination, packages, quality itineraries in terms of airports, connecting time, lounge facilities, visa and health requirements •Ability to recognize and offer value add services to clients •Good communication skills and expertise in initiating a good relationship with the corporate clients •Ability to work under minimum supervision •Ability to work under pressure •Flexibility to changes •Good communication skills •Fluent spoken and written English and Kiswahili
